Lithophanes have been produced since early in the 1800s. These three-dimensional images come to life when illuminated from behind. In this video, I walk the viewer through the production of Lithophanes on 3d Printers. I have printed Lithophanes successfully on a Prusa i3 Mk3, a Creality Ender 5, and a Monoprice Ultimate 2. The techniques demonstrated here will work with any 3d printer capable of printing on translucent materials.

Any slicer, Cura, Simplify 3d, Prusa Slicer of others may be used to convert these stl files in gcode for your printer.

If you want to discuss your experiences with Lithophanes please head over to the MakeWithTech discussion group at https://forum.drvax.com. This free forum, open to everyone, supports a dialog with full image support between video viewers.
