Celebrating a significant milestone in their journey to convert 100% of their bus fleet to battery-electric by 2030, the high altitude mountain town of Breckenridge has deployed two Proterra Catalyst® 35-foot E2 transit buses and Proterra® 60kW charging systems. Breckenridge, one of the most popular skiing destinations in Colorado, was awarded a grant from the Federal Transit Administration under the 2018 Low or No Emission Vehicle Program, which helped make the purchase possible.
“The Town of Breck believes in a couple of really basic things: one’s providing transportation, but the other is sustainability. Having electric buses gets us another step closer to what we’re shooting for, and that’s 100% renewable energy by 2050,” said Mayor Eric Mamula, Town of Breckenridge.
