Do not watch this video unless you’ve seen Emerald Fennell’s “Promising Young Woman.” Just stop now — unless, of course, you love spoilers, in which case… go forth.
In “Promising Young Woman,” Carey Mulligan plays Cassie, who is out for revenge for her childhood best friend Nina. The film is an in-depth look at the ripple effect of grief and destructive power of societal apathy. But the true pièce de résistance of this stunning work is the gut-punch conclusion.
Here, Variety goes into detail about the film's harrowing ending with the “Promising Young Woman's” director and star Mulligan.
