The University of Canterbury’s College of Science, offers world leading teaching and research facilities in Christchurch, New Zealand’s second largest city.

It is a peaceful, safe and multi-cultural community. Located in the South Island, it provides easy access to New Zealand’s stunning natural environment – from the Southern Alps, to the rivers, lakes and sea.

We have many world-leading research centres – attracting high-calibre academics and offering exciting research opportunities for postgraduate students. We’ve got the most field stations of any New Zealand university – including in Antarctica, the mountains, on the coast and the International Dark Sky Reserve.

The College offers two undergraduate degrees–the Bachelor of Science and the Bachelor of Speech and Language Pathology. We teach over 30 different subjects – from Antarctic studies to biology to psychology.

Our academics are at the forefront of advances in their fields of expertise and offer over 20 postgraduate qualifications up to PhD level.

We challenge, inspire and nurture our students, supporting them in their educational journeys and helping them succeed.
