In this video essay, I dig into Indiana Seresin's theory of 'Heterofatalism' in her essay 'On Heteropessimism'.

In short: it's the idea that straight women are tired of heterosexual relationships and feel that they are eternally doomed. Seresin calls this an "anesthesia" to soothe the inequalities that still persist in relationships between men and women.

I also discuss how "straight culture" impacts heterosexual relationships and try to work out a) what it is and b) if it even exists.
