At CES 2023 Eargo announced the release of their newest product, Eargo 7—the company's most advanced hearing aid to date. Eargo 7 has received FDA 510(k) clearance, which means that it can be marketed as a safe and effective over-the-counter hearing aid. The device has a built-in lithium-ion battery that can be charged on the go, similar to a set of AirPods. With consistent daily use, the charger will need to be recharged roughly every three days. The Eargo 7 has a battery life of 16 hours, which is longer than other OTC devices, which typically have a battery life of 7-10 hours. However, the extended battery life comes at the cost of no Bluetooth streaming.
