In our latest cargo area test, we see how much luggage can fit into the trunk of the all-new 2019 Subaru Forester. And, since we know exactly how much will fit in the Subaru Crosstrek, you can see what the cargo-carrying differences are between Subaru's subcompact and compact crossovers.
On paper, the Forester has 33 cu ft. of space behind its raised back seat. By comparison, the Crosstrek has 20.8 cu ft. That's among the best in its segment, and similarly, so is the Forester's amount. As we discover in this video, that on-paper difference basically translates into an overnight bag and a 38-quart cooler that'll fit in the Forester beyond all the luggage that will fill the Crosstrek.
