It's often said that we in the UK took the Killers to our hearts long before they were properly appreciated in their home country. 'Hot Fuss' has so many British elements - so much so that Lady Gaga said they're her favourite UK band!

The Killers were actually the first band I ever saw live as the support act for Stellastarr* in March 2004 when I was 16. They smashed it and it was clear they were destined for much bigger stages than the much-missed Cockpit in Leeds (RIP!)

It's Saturday night as I upload this and there will be pub jukeboxes all over the land blasting out 'Mr Brightside' right now. It's still everywhere!

In this video I get into how a minor UK label plucked them from obscurity, why Brandon Flowers copied Liam Gallagher's trash-talking, meetings with David Bowie and Johnny Marr, the ridiculous amount of UK sales records they've broken and why they will always owe a debt of gratitude to their fanbase across the pond.

I've tried doing a longer video than usual this time. What did you think?
