Simon Thacker is considered as one of the most important musicians of his generation. Indian/Western ensemble Simon Thacker's Svara-Kanti has been acclaimed across the world for redefining the limits of intercultural collaboration. Simon’s pioneering new music and re-imagining have developed new genres exploring the meeting and expansion of Indian and Western traditions. Svara-Kanti have toured across the UK and made their debut in India in 2014 to standing ovations and ecstatic reviews.
Raju Das Baul, a mesmerizing exponent from the Baul heartland of Santiniketan and outstanding singer Farida Yesmin, from Kushtia, Bangladesh joined Svara-Kanti in their debut at the Dhaka international FolkFest in 2016.
Farida is one of the greatest singers from the East Bengal tradition. In adding her to his vision for the form, Simon unties Bengal again in one remarkable ensemble.

সায়মন থ্যাকারকে তাঁর প্রজন্মের অন্যতম গুরুত্বপূর্ণ মিউজিশিয়ান হিসেবে বিবেচনা করা হয়। সায়মন থ্যাকার’স সাভারা কান্তি দিয়ে ইস্টার্ন এবং ওয়েস্টার্ন ঘরানার মেলবন্ধন ঘটিয়ে বিশ্বব্যাপী সমাদৃত হয়েছেন এই গুণী গিটারিস্ট ও কম্পোজার। সায়মনের কম্পোজিশনের সবচেয়ে বড় বৈশিষ্ট্য সম্পূর্ণ নতুন ধরণের সাউন্ড ও মিউজিক্যাল ইনস্ট্রুমেন্টের ফিউশান। ২০১৪ সালে ভারতে প্রথমবারের মত পারফর্ম করে সাভারা কান্তি, যা উপমহাদেশের সংগীতবোদ্ধাদের কাছে অত্যন্ত সমাদৃত হয়।
২০১৬ সালের ঢাকা ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ফোকফেস্ট-এ প্রথমবারের মত সাভারা কান্তির সাথে পারফর্ম করেন বাংলা বাউল গানের দুই অসামান্য প্রতিভা- পশ্চিমবাংলার শান্তিনিকেতনের রাজু দাস বাউল এবং কুষ্টিয়ার ফরিদা ইয়াসমিন।
ফরিদা ইয়াসমিন বাংলা লোকসংগীতের অন্যতম শিল্পী৷ সাভারা কান্তির সাথে তার উপস্থিতি দুই বাংলার লোকসংগীতের মাঝে এক অসাধারণ মেলবন্ধন ঘটিয়েছে।

সান ফাউন্ডেশনের উদ্যোগে আয়োজিত ‘ঢাকা ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ফোকফেস্ট’ লোকসংগীতের এক মিলনমেলা। এ উৎসবে বিশ্বের নানা প্রান্তের লোকসংগীত শিল্পীদের পরিবেশনায় অসাধারণ সব লোকগান শোনার সুযোগ পায় বাংলাদেশের মানুষ।
