Beltane is one of the greatest of all the sabbats of the year, as it celebrates the light half of the year, as Samhain celebrates the dark half of the year. But this is definitely a festival of two halves with Walpurgisnacht and Mayday being the two distinct parts of this festivals each with their own traditions and associations, so here is part one of my Beltane Festival concentrating on May eve, 30th April or as the German’s call it Walpurgisnacht.
