The origin of Harley Quinn is pretty straightforward. She was a psychiatrist working at Arkham Asylum where she treated and ultimately fell in love with the Joker. Changing her name from Harleen Quinzel to Harley Quinn, she became an iconic Batman villain! But the history behind her real-world origin story is even more fascinating. When Paul Dini and Bruce Timm needed a female henchman for Joker on Batman: The Animated Series, they turned to Dini's friend Arleen Sorkin who inspired the creation of Harley in surprising ways!
