World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) is a global awareness day which has been officially observed by the UN since 2012 and is celebrated each year on March 21.
The date being the 21st day of the 3rd month, was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome ( Trisomy 21).

This year’s theme is ‘End The Stereotypes’, and aims to show the world what makes you unique.

Your voice has the power to make our message a little bit louder. Let’s work together and make the world a better place for people with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities.

19 years ago we were blessed with the arrival of Sophie, who just happened to be born with that extra chromosome.
Today we celebrate Sophie and all those who live with Down syndrome and who are changing the world one chromosome at a time!
