The 2021 Lexus UX is soon to become this Japanese luxury carmaker’s cheapest car in Australia as the Lexus CT hatch will be removed from sale at the end of 2021. But is the UX small crossover a true luxury vehicle? Is it worth over $50,000, as the UX 200 Crafted Edition tested is priced at? Which Lexus UX model is best? Is the UX hybrid a valuable investment? Let’s find out.

The UX Crafted Edition reviewed here also includes a subscription to Lexus Encore Platinum, which lets you swap your UX for a high-end Lexus model several times within a three year period, along with bonus fuel discounts and valet parking vouchers.

Like the new Lexus NX SUV and ES sedan, the UX SUV uses the new TNGA platform. The 2021 UX is available with petrol or hybrid engines.

Rivals to the Lexus UX include the Mercedes GLA, BMW X2, Audi Q2 and the Jaguar E-Pace.
