Tube notching tools and tube coping tools serve a very specific purpose. They are used to take the guesswork out for joining together tubes of different diameters, angles, offsets and curves. Our tools reduce the amount of time to make these notches and copes. Welders and fabricators love our tools. What used to be done in days now takes hours. From simple custom tube bumpers and fender guards to complex roll cages and race car chassis. Tube fabrication is hard and without good tools and techniques it will always be hard.

Our tube notching and coping tools are far more affordable and include far more functionality than competitors such as Pipe Master and Baileigh. How did we do this? We use our tools! Check out our custom tube fabrication cars. Which means we modify and cut the waste from our design until it serves us the best with the least amount of waste. We design build and use these tube notching tools or tube coping tools A LOT! Two scratch build cars and one modified Camaro to date.
Here are our best tips and how we build a complete chassis in one 40hr work week. First, tube fabrication for us always starts with a design.

OPEN SOURCE DESIGNS

1) We design with Fusion 360. This allows us to work out fitment of various parts and the tube chassis before and tubes are made, notched and coped. All of our designs are open source and some are community designed.
2) Having the tube fabricated structure designed and evaluated in the Fusion 360 allows us to save time and money on simple mistakes. Then when the build is done the design makes it easy for anyone to repeat our results.
3) Building to the 3D model is very convenient. We use our tube notching tools to outline the copes we need to make then use our tube notching machine to make all the cuts. Then the tube is checked to make sure it was made to the models specifications.

4) DIY 3d print download, make your own tools.

FIXTURING AND WELDING

1) We have our own fixturing system that uses inexpensive 8020 T-slot extrusions for the structure and 3D printed clamps and positioners to hold all the tubes in place.
2)After we notch the tubes and fit them in the fixture for welding to complete the copes. We check them dimensionally to make sure we are fitting them as close as possible to what the model says.
Years of hard work have gone into developing these tools. Tube notching and coping is easy when you have the right tools and techniques. We make, use and teach everything about tube notching and tube fabrication for the motorsports industry. We have no doubt that these are the best tools out there.
