After 8 years, DOTA: 2 has finally received the anime that it deserved! Even though DOTA: Dragon’s Blood doesn’t show every character’s story, it does a great job of reflecting the game’s lore in the little details sprinkled throughout it.

While the show is just beginning, plenty of small references have already managed to make it into the show -- not to mention there’s quite a few smaller details and facts about the production of the show that only the most hardcore of fans would know about.
From members of the staff not knowing about DOTA, to episodes of the show reflecting old events from the game, it’s clear that DOTA: Dragon’s Blood was made with a lot of love and respect for the source material. It’s also clear that there’s quite a bit of references that both old and new fans of the game can appreciate.

There’s a lot going on with the anime and the game, and there’s no doubt that there will be more in upcoming seasons. But, until season 2 releases on Netflix, we’ll have to just comb through the adventures of the Dragon Knight, Mirana, and Marci on their adventure as the Invoker and Selemene fight.

With more and more players joining the DOTA community thanks to the show, we can’t help but look forward to seeing how the game’s lore will play out in the show -- and just how much the show will affect the game!
