We review General Transmission RS8000 lawn mower transmission sold as "automatic"

These have been used and currently are on many different Ariens, Poulan Pro, MTD, John Deere, Troy Bilt, Husqvarna and Craftsman Riding mowers.

The seals are a common issue, I believe it is caused from inability of the cvt to operate causing excessive heat.

Keeping the unit clean is the most important part, otherwise you have very few replacement parts to repair and they last for a long time.
