Stanford students help farms and food banks weather COVID-19

As schools, workplaces and restaurants closed down in the early days of COVID-19, canceled food orders began to result in large-scale agricultural destruction. At the same time, economic stress was rising and food banks across the country were struggling to meet demand. Frustrated by the waste, Stanford sophomores James Kanoff and Stella Delp co-founded the FarmLink Project with hometown friends. With support from donations and a growing army of volunteers, they're salvaging agricultural surplus and shipping it to food banks overwhelmed by coronavirus-related need.
