Our Foam Letters product described by Sean from Woodland Manufacturing. Foam letters made of high density polystyrene exactly like Styrofoam letters without the brand name price. Foam lettering answers the call for temporary dimensional letters or for indoor signs positioned a good distance from a discerning eye. A Styrofoam letter is preferred for fast and easy projects because it is lightweight, moisture and mildew resistant, and carries a respectable density.

We use a CNC router to custom cut 3lb polystyrene, a popular material for commercial building trim and insulation. We find this polystyrene density works best for thick foam letters because it boasts a hardy consistency. There are visible pock marks after the material is cut, but they are not nearly as cavernous as a lesser dense 1 or 2 lb polystyrene.

With the Flat Bottom Standing upgrade each letter will have a flat bottom in order to allow them to stand. This may reduce your letter height slightly depending on the font selected. Some letters, such as J, P and F, may need additional support to stand. This can be done by applying double sided mounting tape to the bottom of the letter, attaching it to a base, leaning it on an adjacent letter or up against a wall.

Thicker letters will have an easier time standing. For help making your selection please contact us.

We recommend finishing the letters with a basic acrylic paint because harsh solvents found in spray paint and hard-coated enamel paints will melt the material.

Use double sided mounting tape to secure the lightweight letters to the surface. A paper mounting template helps with spacing and alignment.

Letters will have pockmarks and impurities. Do not finish with paint containing harsh solvents. Please contact us for a material sample.
