In todays video I share with you how my passion for four wheel driving began. I also talk to you about my favourite type of 4WD adventure. I really enjoy solo vehicle overland 4x4 travel because it allows you to take your time and explore trails and tracks. You can get back to nature and stop as much as you like or wherever you like. I have set up my 2018 Isuzu Mu-x for Solo vehicle 4wd travel. By fitting the vehicle out with 2 inch suspension lift kit and bigger all terrain tyres it gives me the clearance and confidence to tackle any 4wd trail that we may find.

In this video our overland 4x4 adventure begins in Schacht Creek State Forest. We follow the forestry trails through dense rain forest and open Australian Bushland until we reach Amamoor State Forest where we explore some trails. We found an amazing spot down by Amamoor Creek Camping area to relax and have some lunch. With the rain around it made the forestry and creeks run fresh and everything was bought to life. You could hear the running water and the sounds of whip birds singing happily in the background.

I have fitted out the rear of my 2018 Isuzu Mu-x so it has some really handy things for camping and 4wding. I am running a 85AH Giant AGM battery which runs some LED camping lights and a Brass Monkey 30L 12v drawer fridge. On the right side of my drawer system I am running a TITAN 4wd storage drawer 900mm long. Recently I have put together a water tank which is made from a 30L water storage container some clear tubing and hose irrigation connections. This is really handy for washing hands and feet or boiling for coffees.

For this trip I lowered the tyre pressures to 25PSI, because the trails weren't very difficult or taxing on the vehicle the tyre pressures only needed to be dropped slightly. If the trails vecame more difficult I could have easily dropped the tyre pressures down to 18PSI or 14PSI if it was very challenging. The Mu-x handles all of the corrugations and bumps very well due to the Outback Armour 50mm suspension Lift kit and wider rims and tyres. The Isuzu Mu-x is fitted with SCF flat step rock sliders, this prevents rocks from being thrown down the side of the vehicle when on dirt roads.

I really enjoy taking the family out for the day to explore some of the amazing 4wd trails that we have to offer in Australia. There is so many tracks and trails to explore but sometimes its tough to remember which way you have come from in the maze of tracks. I use Gaia GPS topographical maps to track where I have been when going on Solo 4wd trips. You need to download the map area before going out of reception but then you can use full topographical maps when offline with just the GPS. The Gaia GPS app can track where you have been, drop way points or points of interest and tell you altitude and Location. Using GPS tracking while 4wding is a great way to ensure you don't get lost when out on the tracks. Sometime the 4x4 tracks through the forestry sections can become confusing and almost like a maze. Using the Gaia GPS app I can ensure that I know exactly where to go.
