This is how I build a floor lamp, not just any floor lamp.
The story goes back a couple years when I was able to salvage a bunch of historic oak beams from a centuries old farm house.
Ever since I got these beams, there was a lamp design I really wanted to build, now that a client asked me to build a floor lamp using these beams, there was my opportunity!
The lamp uses a design where the log / beam has floating segments of wood. I hindsight this wasn't easy but I had a great time figuring it out as well as overcoming the challenges that came with the build.
