After buying the Tudor Black Bay 54, I started thinking about how it happened even after selling two Black Bay 58s. The Tudor Black Bay 58 was released back in 2018 to universal praise and for good reason. Tudor finally created a smaller 39mm vintage diver that wears incredibly well. Tudor then continued on to release the slightly more modern looking BB58 Blue and this was my chance to finally experience the solid refinement and simplicity of a Black Bay. The following year Tudor made waves again by introducing the Black Bay 58 925 which is not only a precious metal BB58 but one done in silver with a grey dial and bezel. This was the perfect combination for me and I had to get it.

So if these iterations of the BB58 were so seemingly perfect, why did I decide to sell both of them, and then why did I buy the Black Bay 54, a seemingly similar watch? Well there are quite a few reasons that played into my decision and in this video I’m going to explain why I bought the BB54 after all by answering three questions. Why did I sell my BB58s, how and why I decided to buy the BB54, and finally did I make the right choice 2 months later? Let’s find out.
