Finally got the Sunbird to the point of a first test drive. Over the past few months i got the dash ripped out and a new one made, gauges installed, wiring hooked up ( at least enough to make it run). and other odds and ends figured out. After a trip around the country side, found out that with a crack of the throttle she leaps right up to 8 LBS of boost!!! Unfortunately she also pinged ( detonated) like a bit#@...... More than likely going to upgrade to an MSD boost controlled igniton for it, but just might take the easy way out and lock out the mechanical advance in an upcoming video just to see if it takes care of the problem. Race fuel might not be a bad idea either......
