I created this inner child healing meditation to help comfort the inner child as you deal with the difficult feelings and emotions triggered by old childhood wounding. When we experience intense feelings & emotions, it is usually because our inner child within is reliving a repressed emotion that has been activated by a present day event reminiscent of an old painful feeling. During this meditation, you will be gently guided and supported to help you ride out the difficult feeling rather than run away from the emotional discomfort by our usual strategies of escape, avoidance, suppression, indulgence, and self-judgment. Both you and your little one will meet this unpleasant feeling together. As your inner child begins to feel safe and supported, this unpleasant feeling will slowly begin to release and transform. This inner child meditation can be used when you get into an argument or misunderstanding, feel confused or conflicted, disrespected or misunderstood, or anytime you experience a feeling or emotion that feels too intense and difficult to manage. Doing this meditation often will result in feelings and emotions from the past creeping in less and less. Although I am in the health profession, I am not a trained therapist. I am only sharing a technique that I have learned to use (through my own ongoing therapy) that has really helped me learn how to deal with my difficult emotions and feelings. I hope this may help you as well!
PLEASE NOTE: If your childhood experiences involved abuse, severe trauma or tragedy, this meditation may be too emotionally triggering and it may feel more disturbing then healing and comforting. In this case, please do not use this meditation without the guidance of a trained therapist to help support you on your healing journey.
