Part of a series about Machine Shop Work, this film focuses on the micrometer caliper. Film describes how to use a micrometer caliper— a linear measuring tool used to measure variations in size too small for the human eye to see. Different types are used to measure inside widths or diameters, outside lengths or thicknesses, and the depths of holes or cuts. The film includes diagrams which show how the micrometer works, and presents various scenarios for its use.
