At the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy, Dr. David Drewry is uncovering new possibilities for treating chordoma, a rare cancer that forms at the base of the skull and spine. Surgery and radiation are currently the only treatments for chordoma patients. By developing compounds that target a gene linked to chordoma, Dr. Drewry’s work gives new hope that patients will have more options for treating chordoma and even other cancers.
