Born on June 14, 1989, in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India, Jubin showed an early interest in music. His father, Ram Sharan Nautiyal, is a businessman and politician in Uttarakhand and his mother, Neena Nautiyal, is a businesswoman and a housewife.

Jubin Nautiyal gained recognition after participating in the reality show "X Factor India" in 2011. Although he didn't win the competition, the show provided him with a platform to showcase his talent. Though, even after the show, he struggled for 5 years before getting opportunities in the music industry.

Although he has picked up skills from various maestros—Pandit Chhannulal Mishra in Benaras, an exponent of the khayal and the thumri, R Prasanna, a pioneer in Carnatic guitar - Jubin has been focussed on being a playback singer. "That was the first target because it is the biggest platform," he says.

Jubin made his playback singing debut in Bollywood with the song "Ek Mulakat" from the film "Sonali Cable" in 2014. However, it was his soulful rendition of the song "Zindagi Kuch Toh Bata" from the movie "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" (2015) that brought him widespread recognition.

Jubin Nautiyal has lent his voice to numerous popular Bollywood songs across various genres. Some of his notable tracks include "Kaabil Hoon" ("Kaabil"), "Humma Humma" ("OK Jaanu") and "Bawara Mann" ("Jolly LLB 2"), among others.

Music composer Chirantan Bhatt, who worked with Nautiyal for the song 'Bawara Mann' in the film Jolly LLB2, says, "More than getting a break in Bollywood, Jubin has always been devoted to music. And the hits he has delivered have not changed this devotion. He sings with a soul."

Jubin Nautiyal has received several nominations and awards for his soulful and versatile singing. His ability to convey emotions through his voice has earned him appreciation from both audiences and critics. In June 2022, he won the IIFA award for “Playback Singer ” for the song “Raataan Lambiyan.” Jubin was awarded Upcoming Male Vocalist of the Year at 8th Mirchi Music Awards for his song "Zindagi Kuch Toh Bata" from Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
