Netflix’s Legends of Monkey stars Chai Hansen (Monkey) and Josh Thomson (Pigsy) talk to Scott Davis about Season 2 of the latest TV series based on the classic tales of Monkey. Inspired by the 16th Century Chinese fable Journey to the West, The New Legends of Monkey follows a teenage girl and a trio of fallen gods on a perilous journey as they attempt to bring an end to a demonic reign of chaos and restore balance to their world. The cast also includes Luciane Buchanan as Tripitaka, Emilie Cocquerel, Josh McKenzie, Jordan Mooney and Jarred Blakiston.

Plot: The New Legends of Monkey is a family, adventure drama set in a fantasy world that is a hybrid of east and west. The show follows a teenage girl and a trio of fallen gods on a perilous journey as they attempt to bring an end to the demonic reign of chaos and restore balance to their world. A high concept reimagining of an ancient myth, this fantastical and humorous journey tells the story of young people on a mission. The New Legends of Monkey is fuelled by martial arts fighting sequences and extra-ordinary magical powers whilst exploring the universal themes of identity, family and destiny.

Season 2 of THE NEW LEGENDS OF MONKEY which will be launching on Netflix on the 7th August.
