In todays video we talk about the importance of seed to soil contact. The best way to do that is to scarify the lawn. Weather or not your lawn from scratch or if you're seeding to thicken up existing grass this method is the best. using a scarifier digs slits into the soil and removes thatch on the soil surface. the excess thatch causes problems because the seed will germinate and not find soil to adhere to. It also causes problems by not allowing the seed to get enough water. dry seeds die quickly if they begin to germinate. There is nothing more important that propererly prepping the soil surface.
