We sat down with fertility doctor, Dr. Zaher Merhi, to talk about needle-free IVF and Mini-IVF, which are alternatives treatments to conventional IVF.

Dr. Merhi discusses how Mini-IVF can benefit women with diminished ovarian reserve (low ovarian reserve) to improve egg quality and explains how needle-free IVF works for women who want to do IVF without injections or blood draws.

Dr. Merhi is a reproductive endocrinologist at Rejuvinating Fertility Center in New York City.

In this video, we’ll be looking at:

Needle-Free IVF:

Needle-free IVF is an option Dr. Zaher offers to his fertility patients that are afraid of needles and want to avoid injections or even for women who have difficult veins, making blood draws difficult.

In needle-free IVF, instead of fertility injections, women take fertility medications in the form of pills and nasal spray.

Mini-IVF:

Mini-IVF stands for minimal stimulation IVF, in which women take much less fertility medication than what is typical of an IVF cycle.

It is also referred to as Gentle IVF is used by Dr. Merhi and he uses this treatment in the clinic to treat women with low ovarian reserve (diminished ovarian reserve) and has seen this improve egg quality.
