Just over 3 years ago Apple released the first Apple Silicon CPU, the M1 processor, challenging and changing the industry forever. It single handedly made ARM a viable platform for the future of personal and professional computer systems. I was one of the early adopters back in November of 2020. 3+ years later, I'm still using my M1 Mac, even more so than when I first purchased it.

But it's time to move on, as I move M3 Pro, here's a final look at my M1 MacBook Pro 13in to see how it compares with my newer Dell Inspiron 14 7425 and my custom Ryzen 5900x/Radeon 6700XT desktop systems.

Long story short, Apple really made something special with the M1 processor. If you have a choice between a low-mid level Intel or AMD system via M1 Mac system for the same price, you'd hard pressed to justify not getting the M1.
