A new provincially-funded emergency shelter in Maple Ridge, B.C., is providing a safe haven for youth as young as 15. It comes during a time the ministry says young people are at increased risk of substance use, exploitation and homelessness. Janella Hamilton takes us inside the new space to meet the workers dedicated to keeping those at risk safe, and hears from operators on why more places like this are needed.
