As much as SUVs are now the main focus of the automotive industry, pickup trucks still have quite a market. Over the years, pickup trucks have won the hearts of many, establishing a steady market. One such truck is the Fiat Titano. Even though this truck hasn’t been around for decades, it has gotten the attention of a few truck enthusiasts. After all, the truck is pretty good-looking, and it is very reliable. Due to popular demand, the automaker has decided to update it for the 2024 model year. So, what does the 2024 Fiat Titano have to offer? Let’s find out, shall we?

If there is a company that is known to make some of the best pickup trucks in the automotive world, it is Stellantis. Stellantis is the parent company of many brands, including Dodge, Jeep, and Ram. And if there is anything that all these brands have in common, it is that they have some amazing pickup trucks, which are also pretty powerful.
On that note, some trucks from Stellantis are sadly unavailable in the United States. Some of the ones that come to mind include the Fiat Strada, the Ram 700, and the compact Rampage. These trucks perform very well in other markets, but they were never made available in the United States.
However, there are some reports that the compact Rampage might be making its way to the stateside eventually, but nothing has been made official yet. In addition to those trucks, there is also the Peugeot Landtrek. However, this is the same truck that is living a double life and going by the name Fiat Titano. It is mostly found in Africa, but it recently reached Latin America. Before we can get into detail about this, which other trucks is it competing with?
Well, carrying a name that originates from Greek mythology, just like the Nissan Titan, the Fiat Titano is here to give trucks such as the Ford Ranger a run for their money. The roots of this midsize truck can be traced back to the Changan Kaicen F70, which is a Chinese pickup developed by Changan Automobile and PSA. It has been around since 2019 and is not produced in several factories worldwide. In addition, it carries different badges to better suit regional markets. But even with the different badges, it is still the same truck.
In addition to being twins with the Peugeot Landtrek, the greenhouse and overall profile of the Fiat Titano are shared with the Kaicene F70 and Changan Lantazhe from China. Both of these trucks also make use of the same ladder-frame underpinnings.
The exterior doesn’t really have much to it since it is basically the same as the Peugeot truck. But what about the interior? Is this also the same?
The interior and exterior are very similar to the Peugeot twin, which makes it only special in markets where the two do not coexist. However, the biggest question is always about the powertrain.
According to Fiat, the Algerian-spec Titano’s first priority is being as fuel-efficient as possible. This is evident from its powertrain, which is pretty impressive. The Fiat Titano houses a 1.9-liter diesel engine, which is capable of generating about 148 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. This engine is quite impressive for such a truck, making it quite popular. Furthermore, the engine is exclusively paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, which distributes power to either the rear for the 4x2 variant or all four wheels for the 4x4 variant. It also comes with an electronic differential lock. Last but not least, this truck comes with a maximum payload capacity of about 1,210 kg, which is about 2,668 pounds. With such a payload, this version closely matches its main rivals.
The Fiat Titano comes in various variants, depending on the market. Not only that, but the market also affects the accessories that the truck comes with. For the Brazilian market, the new Fiat Titano comes in three versions: Endurance, Volcano, and Ranch. These three variants all come with a double cabin. They all come with a 2.2-liter Multijet II turbodiesel engine, which is capable of producing up to about 180 horsepower. In addition to that, they also come with all-wheel drive as standard.
Let’s just say that ever since the Fiat Titano was introduced, it has definitely impressed quite a number of people if it is being brought to other markets now. The automaker can only hope it performs well in these markets.
