Fountain Hughes was a child during the American Civil War but remembers well what it was like to be a slave to another person.

Because things were never made right for the freed slaves, and because racism was allowed to continue, we in the USA still have issues today. AND we still refuse to adequately address these issues.

Things will never improve until we do.
