The Artillery3D is becoming one of my go to 3D printers, but I still wanted to add auto bed levelling. I took the opportunity to make a detailed comparison of the Touch Mi and BLtouch. Everything you need to install either system is provided here in a step by step manner. This includes printed mounts and pre-configured firmware for free downloading.
Previously, I tested the Touch Mi on the Ender 3 and the results were disappointing. I followed the exact same steps as before, but this time it has worked very well. I tested some of the suggestions in the comments, such as adding or removing a bright light, checking for a bent pin (I tried two proves) and altering probing speed. None made any difference this time. The Ender 3 test remains a mystery!
The only remaining downside of the Touch Mi is the need to not print on the left hand side of the bed, to avoid the magnet activating the probe by dropping the pin down, which then might collide with the bed or printed part.
