In this lecture we cover the Maya. We introduce the Maya, talk about some theories about where they came from and some of the principle features of their culture, their calendar, the Popul Vuh or creation myths, the Hero Twins (Not Wanda and Pietro) and the Mesoamerican Ball Game. Then we talk about some of the major sites, Palenque, Tikal and Copan before talking about their collapse and final flourishing the Yucatan during the terminal Classic. Sooooo beautiful.
