If you have ever stopped at a sunflower field and looked at them up close, then you know these large plants with bright yellow flowers sticking out their heads over a sea of green leaves are a sight you cannot take your eyes off from. Bring a sunflower close to your cheek and it will hardly feel like a flower, it feels like a flower from another planet. And when the sun shines on them, they absorb every bit of light and shine like light bulbs that brighten you to your inner core.
So today I will be painting these and I hope I can do them justice. I am using Arche cold press paper and colors from Holbein and Daniel Smith. If you are painting along then see the list of supplies in the description. And if you are just here to watch, then I hope this video brings sunshine to your day today.
