When Subaru transitioned from the long serving EJ series of engines to the new FA and FB engines such as the FA20DIT, FA24DIT, FA20D, FA20F, FA24D etc., they made some big changes.

One of the biggest was to move from a timing belt, to dual timing chains.

If you have to dive into your new FA or FB engine and replace the timing chains, there are a number of things that you will most likely need to get the job done.
