The BEST Features Of The New 2024 BMW X4!

The new 2024 BMW X4 is an all-round great SUV, but there are some things about it that definitely stand out. Here are the top 10 features…

Variety of Engine options

The base X4 xDrive30i starts strong with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, delivering 248 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. On the track, it dashes to 60 mph in just 6.2 seconds.

For those craving more power, the X4 M40i steps up the game. It boasts a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine, pumping out a robust 382 horsepower and 365 lb-ft of torque. The X4 M40i rockets to 60 mph in just 4.2 seconds, matched with a thrilling engine sound. Launch control comes as standard. Both this and the base model feature an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive as standard.

For the ultimate thrill, you’ve got the BMW X4 M with its staggering 503 horsepower. It’s a powerhouse that blends the agility of the M4 sports coupe with the bold look of an SUV. At its core is a twin-turbocharged inline-six paired with standard all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission. The standard X4 M impresses with 473 horsepower, while the Competition model brings it up to 503. It's a speed demon, blasting to 60 mph in a mere 3.2 seconds, outpacing rivals like the Mercedes-AMG GLC63 and even BMW's own M3 sedan with rear-wheel drive.

The X4M Competition is really an engineering marvel, revving up to 7200 rpm, and sure to wake up your neighbors every morning when you leave for work. Despite its all-wheel drive, this beast can spin its front tires under full throttle.

All things considered though, the X4 M is more of a high-performance sedan than your typical family SUV. It’s in a league of its own, and if you decide on such a car, you’re not really buying it for the utility and practicality it offers. Right? Let’s move on.

Optional M Sport brakes

The X4 xDrive30i is remarkably athletic, stopping from 70 mph in just 157 feet — only three feet more than the X4 M Competition. This impressive stopping power is partly due to the optional wider tires and the M Sport brakes. These brakes outsize the standard ones, with front rotors at 13.7 inches and rear ones at 13.6 inches, and they're also thicker. Their enhanced stopping power is thanks to four-piston front calipers, an upgrade from the usual single-piston, and sturdy iron rear calipers replacing the standard aluminum ones.

Moreover, you can personalize your X4 with M Sport Brakes, available with either blue or red calipers, depending on your preference. These brakes are a highlight of the Dynamic Handling Package, which also features Dynamic Damper Control.

Dynamic Damper Control smartly adjusts the damping of the shock absorbers based on driving conditions and road quality. It also takes into account the speed and load of the car, including passengers and cargo, to ensure a ride that feels more stable and comfortable.

M Sport Suspension as standard

In the X4, you'll find the M Sport suspension as the default setup, but you can opt for the regular suspension at no extra cost if you prefer.

The benefit of the M Sport suspension is superb handling and virtually non-existent body roll. When navigating through curves, the nearly perfect weight distribution across its front and rear axles results in moderate understeer, yet it maintains the feel of a sports sedan.

However, the trade-off with the M Sport suspension is a firmer ride. Even in Comfort mode, the adaptive dampers can transmit sharp impacts, and the rear wheels might hop over bumps at highway speeds.

Bold and Sporty Coupe Styling

The 2024 X4 takes a different path from the typical family SUV, focusing more on style and sportiness. Its eye-catching sloping roofline sets it apart from the more traditional X3, while also sharing many of the same qualities that make the X3 a top contender in the compact luxury crossover market.

The 2024 X4 exudes individuality with its flowing lines, sporty build and athletic proportions. Not only does it drive like a sports coupe, it also looks a bit “younger” and more adventurous than, we dare say, any SUV on the market. The big double kidney grille and striking front bumper highlight its dynamic abilities. The sleek full LED headlights, three-dimensional tail lights, uniquely styled exhaust tips and bold rear bumper say the X4 means business.

Customization options vary, starting with the choice between the xLine Exterior and the optional M Sport package. The standard configuration includes Satin Aluminum exterior trim, 19-inch Y-spoke ferric grey wheels, and a panoramic moonroof. Opting for the M Sport package from the outset gives you Shadowline exterior trims and 19-inch M Y-spoke Bi-color Midnight Grey Wheels.
