A group of dog owners in the Philippines capital are having their beloved pets trained in search and rescue so they can assist in the event of a natural disaster. Seismologists believe Manila could be hit by a major earthquake because of its location on the West Valley Fault and its proximity to the Manila Trench. Although Philippines disaster agencies have their own search-and-rescue dogs, there are concerns there wouldn't be enough should a major quake strike Manila.
