Welcome to Motion Graphic Monday! In this After Effects tutorial I'll show you the basics of Kinetic Typography. We'll go through some simple animations you can add to text and really turn up your lyric video game!
Kinetic Typography, in its simplest terms, means the movement of text... Or text animation. You've probably seen this a lot in music lyric videos. This is when text flies across the screen in sync with the lyrics. But this motion graphic is also utilized in a lot of FB Ads, Snapchat ads, and YouTube ads. It is a great technique to know when becoming a visual effects artist & motion graphics artist. Keep in mind, this animation can (and will) also be used on other visual effects.
If there is a special kinetic typography video you have seen and want to know how they did the animation, let me know in the comments and I'll start making some more advanced motion graphics tutorials.

• For this tutorial, I use Adobe After Effects CC 2017. No plugins are required.

KEYS TO SUCCESS:

• Take control of your easy ease keyframes in the graph editor.
• Easy ease or "ease in" & "ease out" your keyframes.
• Use lights and solid layers to create shadows of your text.

FONT USED:

TYPOGRAPH PRO created by Aleksandar Aleksandrov
