Sometimes we have the opportunity to land jobs that we don't have the equipment for. Yes, sometimes we can do it by hand, BUT time is a commodity we can't get back; therefore, you have 3 options...

1. Rent or Buy a piece of equipment that is going to make you more efficient and get the job done quicker and easier.

2. Do the job by hand and price it accordingly...depending on the job this may or may not be possible.

3. Turn the job away or subcontract it to someone who can do the job.

Also when you're bidding these jobs make sure that you don't forget you're in this business TO MAKE MONEY!!! You don't have to get rich from one customer, but you have to be fair to yourself otherwise it's all for nothing. Don't let others talk you down if you know the price you gave them is fair...it only hurts youR pockets and even hurts the whole industry if we're being honest.

Here's something I learned a long time ago...the hard way. Just because you "won the bid" doesn't always make you a winner! Remember that and it will serve you well!
