"The best career advice I received was actually when I was quite young," Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù tells us. "Another actor said to me, that the only thing we needed to do was be nice and do good work. I've held on to that piece of advice the whole way through my career.

"Being excellent at what you do and being good to people are hopefully a recipe for success, but also just a recipe for being proud of yourself and the work you do and the way you treat people."

The advice has clearly served him well; the actor's career is flourishing. Following stints at the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Youth Theatre, Dirisu transitioned into TV and film, and is arguably best known for his role in crime series Gangs of London - which he describes as "the job that changed my life".

But it's his latest role as Bol in horror film His House which has garnered the 30-year-old much critical acclaim; culminating in a British Independent Film Award and a nomination for the EE Rising Star Award at this year's BAFTAs - the eventual winner of which will be decided by the British public.

From his guilty pleasure to his strangest audition experience and what makes him happiest, discover everything you don't know about Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù in our exclusive video above.
