This film is set 85 million years ago in the Niobrara Formation and follows a group of Geosternbergia (Pteranodon sternbergi) trying to hunt during a thunderstorm... but there are dangerous creatures in these Cretaceous seas.
This is the fourth short film in my "Dinosauria Animated Series" even though it does not actually feature any dinosaurs.

The general pop-culture depiction of pterosaurs is far more outdated than that of dinosaurs. Pterosaur depictions in mainstream media remain mostly unchanged since the Ray Harryhausen days, often being portrayed as squawking, flapping, sky-vermin which I really wanted to challenge with this film.
In my opinion, this is the most realistic-feeling film of the series as I wrote it to mimic exactly the type of scenario you'd see play out in a nature-documentary segment. This was because I wanted to portray Geosternbergia as an inspirational, realistic animal and I felt stripping back as many fantastical elements as I could was the correct way to go about doing that.
Overall; I really like this little film. FAR more than I expected to. I think it has grown to become my second favourite of the series, just after "Our Frozen Past"! ^_^
