It may not have won as many races as some of the most successful Japanese racing cars, but we'd make an argument that the Toyota GT-One (TS020) is one of, if not the prettiest Japanese racing cars of all time. Despite not winning overall in 1999, it did win its class which isn't to be sniffed at.
