The is a Motormouth couple car comparison of the bmw X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC. The Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 and the BMW X3 30i both come with a 2L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. The X3 has an 8 speed automatic transmission and the GLC 9 speed. The GLC offers more power with 255 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque compared to the BMW with 248 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The X3 may come with more standard features like a heated steering wheel but its starting price is higher than the GLC, there’s a difference of $2,650. Both the BMW X3 and Mercedes GLC come standard with LED headlights and taillights, driver seat memory, heated front seats and 19” wheels. However, the X3 comes standard with a heated steering wheel, Apple Carplay and Android Auto. On the GLC, you can get a heated steering wheel for $250 and plenty of features if you add the Premium Package for $4,500. It comes with a 10.25” touchscreen, a panoramic sunroof, keyless entry, wireless charging, a head up display, Apple Carplay and Android Auto plus a power tailgate. I wouldn’t mind the 12.3” driver display, which is available on the technology package for $1,900, but not a deal breaker for me I could live without it.The X3 comes standard with a 10.2” touchscreen with BMW’s iDrive. I would recommend the Premium Essential Package for $4,500 to get similar features as the GLC, like a sunroof, wireless charging, the ambient lighting and key-less entry for both the driver and passenger. A 12.3” driver display and heated rear seats are available, but on different packages. The GLC has an elegant design with a quiet and comfortable interior It comes standard high gloss wood or piano black trim. It has a 7” touchscreen, Mercedes Benz MBUX, a steering wheel with touch control buttons, driver seat memory, heated front seats, and piano black/aluminum trim. Mercedes-Benz offers plenty of packages for optional features or you can pick and chose which features you prefer. The premium package for $4,500 is a must if you want the 10.25” touchscreen, a panoramic sunroof, keyless entry, wireless charging, a head up display, Apple Carplay and Android Auto plus a power tailgate. Heated rear seats and a heated steering wheel are extra. I would also like the 12.3” driver display which is available in the technology package for $1,900. The X3 has a clean, simple and modern design. The 10.2” touchscreen with BMW’s iDrive is intuitive and easy to use. This BMW comes standard with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, driver seat memory, heated leather wrapped steering wheel and heated front sport seats. The Premium Essential package for $4,500 offers keyless entry for both the driver and passenger, a sunroof, ambient lighting and wireless charging. Heated rear seats and the 12.3” driver display are available on other packages. The GLC exterior is sporty and has a bit of an athletic look to it. If you want to pump it up and make it look more muscular, there are packages available to do that with gloss black accents throughout the exterior as well as AMG styling. The GLC comes standard with LED headlights and taillights, key-less start, heated power folding side view mirrors, roof rails, 19” wheels and available aluminum running boards for $750. 20” wheels are also optional. The X3 is modernly styled and the kidney grille has been left untouched for now by the bigger is better BMW designers. It comes standard with LED headlights and taillights, LED foglights and 19” wheels. 20” and 21” are both available. If you want a sportier look, you can add the M Sport package for $3500, that will get you the black trim and throughout and the black roof rails.
