As you sit down with your bowl of cereal - or snacks, depending on the time of day - and tune in to all your favorite animated shenanigans, you might one day find yourself suddenly no longer seeing your favorite show on air. Or maybe that one episode you really liked is suddenly gone, never to be shown again no matter how many times the show is re-run. And all you can do is sit back, scratch your head and wonder “what happened?”

Well, most likely, it was banned.

Whether they are intended for children or not, cartoons seem to constantly be under even heavier scrutiny than all other shows across the world, with world leaders, organizations and all manners of other groups constantly keeping a watchful eye on what subjects they believe the shows may or may not be promoting. And, given the difference in cultures and sensibilities across the world, the reasons can vary from seeming completely random to outright ridiculous overreactions and to sadly rather predictable reasons why some people might not want these shows to reach people’s TV screens.

Well today, we’re taking a look at ten examples of cartoons that apparently went just that tiny bit too far and had either single episodes or the whole show removed somewhere in the world… for all manner of strange reasons.
