First, I just want to say how blessed and grateful I am to have MATCHED successfully into a residency! Though my story may not be as conventional as others and yes I am devastated about not matching directly into OB, I am so excited to say I was offered a residency position at a transitional year program in Florida! (for more information on a transitional residency year - I talk about it in this video but basically, it's just a year of residency where you are not in a specific specialty - a mix of rotations throughout the year with elective blocks to do your desired specialty)

My story is not finished and I will be reentering the match next year to reapply for OB! I am here to say (and hopefully inspire others) I truly believe adversity must come before achievement. I will be working hard as a first-year resident to earn my keep in next year's match to become an OB/GYN.
