Leigh Whannel's 2018 Horror / Action sci-fi extravaganza, Upgrade, is a sorely underrated movie. To my mind its the closest thing we've ever had to a true successor to both the Terminator and Robocop. Where those films had watered down sequels, often appealing to a PG-13 market with ballooning budgets, Upgrade keeps to the spirit of the 1984 and 1987 classics by squeezing every cent of its costs to deliver awesome action and worldbuilding.
