I’ve been discussing the life-serving value of Ayn Rand’s ideas a lot recently. The great economist Bryan Caplan recently sent his Substack subscribers an article (originally published in 2018) criticizing what he called Rand’s “worst idea”: the idea that one should never morally sanction evil. It seems like a fitting time to discuss Rand’s idea and what’s wrong with Caplan’s view of it.
