1977 Australian delivered Jaguar XJ-S V12 pre H.E. first update with GM400 transmission which improved gear changes and kick down response. Early XJ-S were 120kg lighter than the following H.E. and could reach a top speed of 154mph. The purest of all XJ-S the pre H.E. featured the much loved GKN Kent alloy wheels. This particular example has only travelled 158,637 km and won a gold medal at the 2018 Victorian Jaguar Concourse D’elegance. The car comes with passport to service, portfolio, large invoice file and it is as good to drive today as it was when it left the showroom. The engine bay, boot, bright work, front and rear bars, wheels and paint are all in excellent condition. Inside the carpets, head lining and dash are all very good and the leather trim is in good order as well. The period colour of Regency Red over Black leather trim with distinctly 1970’s dash only adds to the patina of a Jaguar from a bygone era, Sir William Lyons would be proud.
